A captivating aside in "The Immortal Hulk #21"

"The Immortal Hulk #21" Cover A by Alex Ross

The Immortal Hulk #21 is a nice aside from the "typical" Immortal Hulk tales, whereas previous issues had been Hulk/Banner-centric, this one focuses on the anti-hero/villain of General Fortean.

Without giving too much away, I will tell you this: do not skip this issue even though it doesn't feature our jolly green giant friend as its primary focus.

Al Ewing does his very best at keeping the side tales of this series as accessories to the main tale at hand, not simply just "filler".

Joe Bennett as well does an excellent job of giving life to Bennett's script. From Battle Suits to trippy psychedelic absorption sequences(!!), to a simple aside set in a church, all aspects of this issue keep you captivated with the wonderful artwork alone!

As far as a spec book, I wouldn't go heavy on it, but for those that do partake, there is a sort of first appearance in this one, not unlike one a mere few issues back.

This issue sets up what is sure to be a hell of a climactic battle that will surely be a wonderful culmination of our dynamic duo's work over the past year and a half.

Be sure to pick it up if you don't already have The Immortal Hulk on your pull list!

Out in stores July 17, 2019!
