"Agents of SHIELD" find ingenious ways to prevent the End Of The World in "Collision Course, Pt. II"
The Big Showdown between Coulson lookalike Sarge and the equally mysterious alien Izel didn’t disappoint. The No-Win Scenario of allowing Sarge to complete his mission and destroy Izel and her world-destroying device was a real cliffhanger.
There really isn’t much I can say about what happens in this episode without spoiling it all, but to defeat Izel, sacrifices will have to be made. Who those sacrifices will surprise you, and the ways the agents defeat the No-Win Scenario are pretty ingenious.
It was gratifying to see Fitz and Simmons reunited with their fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and friends, and to see Fitz meet his future grandson for the “first” time.
The episode ends with May making a shocking decision that she has no memory of, as well as a great speech from Director Mack that can also serve as the farewell toast for the entire series.
Will we find out why Sarge looks like Coulson? Hopefully we will find out in the two episodes that remain in the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fridays on ABC.
• Sarge’s obviously superhuman or alien strength makes for a very brutal and enjoyable-to-watch hand-to-hand battle with Director Mack.
• Some story threads wrapping up in advance of the final two episodes
• Some nifty YoYo moves
• The weird Deke-Snowflake romance survives!
• A welcome reconciliation between former lovers
