Hell hath no fury like a Spellman scorned in "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" P3 Ch21

We are back with a brand new part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the premiere episode titled "The Hellbound Heart" starts out with a hop, skip, and run through Hell itself. Part 2 ended with the revelation that Sabrina Spellman is actually Sabrina Morningstar, the half-mortal/half-witch daughter of Lucifer Morningstar himself. Lucifer's former concubine, Lilith, crowned herself the Queen of Hell in place of Sabrina so as to prevent the End Times. However, Lilith took something, or rather someone, very precious to Sabrina who now has to make her way into Hell and back to rescue them.

Sabrina Spellman and the gang in Hell's Forest of Torment

"The Hellbound Heart" is appropriately written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the original creator of the comic book series of the same name. Aguirre-Sacasa packs heavy amounts of story into this chapter and if you haven't been keeping up with Chilling Adventures, you'll get lost in the Forest of Torment yourself. The Spellman clan is handling the events of Part 2 the best they can as it seems to be within a few days time span of the previous part's finale.

The lovely aunties unties Hilda and Zelda must help the Glendale Coven survivors recuperate and get back on their feet while also dealing with the bureaucratic superiors of their realm. Ambrose and Prudence, search for the latter's father as he has fled with his infant twins Judas and Judith because of his actions against the Coven. Their search is full of trials and manipulation which grows increasingly interesting as it will take them around the world. Sabrina calls on her mortal besties Harvey, Roz, and Theo to help her go through Hell to get back what she most desires. Lastly, Lilith's self coronation of Queen of Hell is not without its detractors. There's hierarchy and rules even there. The decisions she must make will have a ripple effect throughout the realms.

All hail Lilith, the Queen of Hell

"The Hellbound Heart" is not an episode you can watch while you work on something else or play Lily's Garden. So much new information and detailed story is provided by Aguirre-Sacasa that you almost feel overwhelmed. I had to make sure I understood it all before starting on the next episode. The sets, props, and wardrobe all reflect the increased budget for the series, which is exactly what you need in order to properly portray the many worlds within it. Though, something seems a bit off with Kiernan Shipka (who plays Sabrina) and Ross Lynch (who plays Harvey). I don't know if perhaps they weren't ready to get back into character just yet, but I'm hoping this wears off as the story continues.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3 is now available to watch in its entirety on Netflix.
