POPular Picks Of The Week: 6/19/19

Welcome back to another exciting week in comics!

There are some interesting new series coming from Independent Publishers this week.

DC Comics is releasing their 64-page, prestige format, DC's Black Label (mature audiences) Superman: Year One, written by Frank Miller with art from John Romita, Jr. and Danny Miki. Look for our spoiler-free review later in the week!

Dark Horse Comics has some stunning covers for their American Gods Moment of the Storm #3, both the regular cover from Glen Fabry and the variant from David Mack. Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo team up to bring us a new Hellboy one-shot adventure in Hellboy and the BPRD Beast of Vargue.

IDW Publishing has teamed up with Stan Sakai to bring us Usagi Yojimbo #1; look for our review later this week! Samurai Jack Lost Worlds #2 continues this week from Paul Allor and Adam Bryce Thomas.

IDW also has a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 35th Anniversary Edition, and a TMNT Micro Series TP releasing this week. Image continues their hit series this week with the release of Excellence #2, Farm Hand #9, and Gideon Falls #14. Look for our review of Excellence #2 and Farm Hand #9 this week!

Marvel continues their War of the Realms event this week with multiple tie-ins: Deadpool #14, Tony Stark Iron Man #13, War of the Realms Journey into Mystery #5, War of the Realms Spider-Man and the League of Realms #3, and War of the Realms War Scrolls #3. There are some beautiful covers this week for Marvels 25th Tribute covers. Howard the Duck #1 gets a Facsimile Edition this week.

Crucified #1

Scout Comics has teamed up with Sheldon Allen and Armin Ozdic to bring us the new series Crucified. The world's deadliest assassin has just received his newest assignment, to assassinate a man some believe to be the modern day Jesus Christ. Boom! Studios starts their epic conclusion to Go Go Power Rangers in Sabans Go Go Power Rangers: Forever Rangers #1.
